Troubling findings on the state of fundraising
The report pointed to many things, including a lack of a culture of philanthropy among these nonprofits, the stiff competition from the largest nonprofits to recruit talented fundraisers, a lack of support from the leadership of the organization for fundraising and a lack of tools for fundraisers in organizations.

One particularly interesting finding came from the Ohio Environment Council. While most of their membership giving came offline, those donors who had email and received ongoing contact through a robust online program gave nearly twice as much annually as their no-email counterparts.
